Editing Levels & Pricing

We have a sliding scale for our rates based on word count and two different editing levels. There is no price differentiation for speed. There is no extra charge for rush jobs. Your editor is custom chosen for you and your project by our skilled staff, or you may choose your editor yourself by reviewing our editors on the Staff Page.

Premier

Proofreading, plus any necessary improvements to diction, sentence structure, flow, and clarity. Premier editing is for well-written texts that require minor to moderate corrections and editing.

The fee for up to 2,000 words is $100, which is our minimum fee.
2,000 – 3,999 words: $125 flat rate.
4,000 – 5,999 words: $150 flat rate.
6,000 – 39,999 words is $25 per 1000 words.
40,000 – 59,999 words is $24 per 1000 words.
60,000 – 79,999 words is $23 per 1000 words.
80,000 – 150,000 words is $22 per 1000 words.
Any amount greater than 150,000 words is $21 per 1000 words.

Premier +

The most comprehensive service we offer, line editing includes copy editing, plus more in-depth improvements to language usage, organization, phrasing, and scholarly tone (in the case of academic texts), as well as a thorough style *formatting (such as APA, CMS, MLA, etc.). This service also includes any feedback necessary regarding your text’s content. For fiction, this feedback includes a critique of plot development and characterization. For non-fiction and academic works, this feedback will identify any unsupported or underdeveloped points or arguments.
